So many Women and Men come to me who suffer from an estrogen imbalance, this problem causes many unpleasant side effects and can seriously affect your results you are working so hard to achieve in the gym and kitchen. Estrogens are the primary female sex hormone, it is produced by the overies, and when pregnant is produced by the placenta. Men also require a small but exact amount of estrogen for a healthy libido. Women produce Progesterone which keeps estrogen in balance, it is produced after ovulation, which is approximately 12 days after menstruation. A healthy women will produce the correct amount of progesterone and estrogen, the problem arises when women do not produce sufficient progesterone, therefore the estrogen in their bodies is unopposed. This excessive estrogen is also known as estrogen dominance. I have put together a list below of common side effects of estrogen dominance in both women and men.

After reading this you may feel concerned as you relate to some of these side effects, yes you may be suffering from estrogen dominance, the good news is there is a fantastic natural product which I prescribe to many of my clients which helps to create a healthy level of estrogen this product is called– DIM (Diindolylmethane). DIM promotes beneficial estrogen metabolism and healthy hormonal balance it is extremely helpful for estrogen dominant conditions. Women and men also use DIM as an integral part of successful fat loss program.

DIM is a naturally occurring phytonutrient that is found in cruciferous vegetables. Though discovered many years ago, the connection between plant-derived dietary ingredients and estrogen metabolism are just now beginning to be understood. Research has shown that DIM has the ability to act as an estrogen balancer (sometimes referred to as an estrogen blocker) in both women and men.
